Our history
Les Vinaigreries du Lion, a company founded in Lagny-sur-Marne in 1865 by Mr Mathon, passed into the hands of the Chamois family in 1890. It produced a quality vinegar, based on white alcohol.
The vinegar factory manufactured and delivered the vinegar used to prepare Moutarde de Meaux® Pommery® for many decades. It is therefore natural that our company took over the manufacturing of Moutarde de Meaux® Pommery®.

Land of mustard and vinegar for many centuries, Meaux still perpetuates the tradition of inimitable know-how. Factories have been recorded since the 18th century and among them, that of JB Pommery stands out as a virtuoso.
The jealously guarded secret of Meaux Moutarde® had been passed down to him by the canons. From the 19th century, the Pommery family remained the only one to produce mustard with always constant, never equaled quality. Its carefully selected ingredients, its slightly spicy flavor, its legendary sweetness, make it a refined mustard which is today appreciated by the finest gourmets around the world.
